My name is Mike Hudson and I will be California's next Assembly Member from District 11. I won re-election to the Suisun City Council in November 2010 and now serve as the Vice Mayor of Suisun City.
My commitment to public service and leadership is well proven and started many years ago when I served my country, for over 10 years, in the United States Naval Submarine Service, where I served with distinction and honor.
My first election was in 2006 for Suisun City Council; my campaign was focused on fixing streets and balancing the budget. I won reelection in November of 2010 and was elected by my peers to serve as Vice Mayor of Suisun City. My priorities are public safety and a balanced budget.
In 2001, I founded Hudson Business Networks (HBN) in Suisun City; I have been in business for over 10 years. Located on Main Street in Suisun City, we specialize in design and development of the best websites in Solano County for our clients. We also provide contractual based computer maintenance for our clients. Our clients include the State of California, Wells Fargo, East Bay Municipal Utility District, West America Bank, Heritage Escrow, Eplus and many more.
Prior to founding my company, I provided network and computer security consulting services to Tennessee Valley Authority, Southern Bell, Pennsylvania Power and Light, Electronic Data Systems (EDS), Pacific Bell, SBC, Safeway, the Library of Congress, Birkenstock, Bank of America, McKesson HBOC, and CDNet / ZDnet.
United States Navy, Jan. 1982 - July 1992
Electronics Technician First Class Submarine Qualified. I led two divisions of Technicians in the installation, configuration, maintenance, programming, and repair of all electronic equipment including mainframe, mini and microcomputers. I was also responsible for computer security, administered and maintained XENIX networks.
My service included the following commands:
- USS Georgia SSBN 729 – Refit and Refresher Training
- USS John Marshall SSN 611 – Desert Storm, Decommissioning Crew – Plank Owner
- Naval Ordinance Test Unit, Cape Canaveral, Florida - Installed Telemetry, Tracking, and Destruct capability in C4 & D5 missiles
- USS Ulysses S. Grant SSBN 631 – Shipyards and Sea Trails
- USS John C. Calhoun SSBN 630 – 2 Deterrent Patrols, Grenada, Panama
My decorations include a Deterrent Patrol Pin (2 stars), Enlisted Submarine Breast Insignia, Battle E Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2 stars), Navy Expeditionary Medal, Navy Unit Commendations.I am now an honorably discharged and decorated veteran of the first Gulf War.
